profundis...and it was a perfect antidote to the holiday clamor and pablum we all marinate in from Halloween to New Year's. Thank you, Tim Burton for releasing this today.
Oh sure they left out a few things I wish they had left in, and left in a few I wish they'd left out, and Bonham-Carter is NOT. ANGELA. LANSBURY (*lament*) but that simply has to be ok, it can't always be her.
I'm glad they brought it to a new audience and it looked great. Depp actually has a nice voice, even if he came off a little like Adam Ant from Hell. It did make me want to go home and listen to my Broadway version (which I am) but from nostalgia, not to erase the memory of this film version. ;)
