Current roomie is buying a house and I am not yet sure where it will be or if it will work out well for me to go along with him and our other roomie. So I ask if anyone is looking for a roomie situation (either here in a 3BR near Galleria or elsewhere) or has a room for rent in a house. Prefer Northside from 75ish to 85 ish but will consider others. Would like rent and bills to come in under $600, but some wiggle room. Ideas?

Jose I am still interested in theory, depending on where you guys end up :)
profundis: (Hmm...)
If you are living in or moving to the Atlanta area (preferably around the north side somewhere along the 75/285/85 end of things but I'll consider other options) and either are seeking a roommate situation, or just have a room or basement apt to rent - or know someone who does, please let me know or have them email me (profundis at live journal dot com works just fine).

We can work out details and dealbreakers individually, I just want to hear about possibilties at the moment :)

Also: If you can recommend apartment complexes with 1 or 2 BR apartments in the above mentioned area please do. :)

I am planning a move and want to unload a fair bit of stuff but yard sales are just not my deal.

I will list things here that are either for SALE (with price or OBO listed) and/or BARTER (we can figure out what to trade depending on your skills and/or barter-able items) or FREE just to come take away.

I will update as things are added / claimed / removed from my premises :)

All of these require that you A) come get them or B) live conveniently along my path (Northwest/North/Northeast sides of town). Email me and we'll figure it out.

FREE:

The move went well Monday, and yesterday class got called off so I had the whole day to settle in and it was much appreciated. I still have plenty to arrange in the living room, and some boxes to unpack in the bedroom. All the broad strokes in the bedroom are done, just some little tweaking to do there, and I love it. Its totally different from anything I've ever done decor-wise and its just what the doctor ordered. Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] hadrian_m for the choice hand-me-downs. I'd post pics but I forgot to bring a mouse back to this computer (the wireless at the apt is problematic after the several power fluctations we experienced yesterday morning when Fay's remains flew over) and so can't open the folder. So I will post soon as is feasible.

Thanks to everyone that asked about me and the process, I think I'm adapting nicely ;)

Gotta get to work in a bit so I'll be offline possibly til tomorrow (but you can IM me on yahoo or AIM via my cellphone). :)

Later, taters!

The Big Push is done! Movers arrived at 9am, were loaded up by 10am, and unloaded and gone by noon. I was soooo wiped I hadda crash as soon as I got the bed set up. Now begins the great tile puzzle game of sliding the boxes and furnishings around until they make the picture I want. Still plenty of stuff to deal with at the house, but its all in bite-sized pieces or going on a trailer to take up to Mom's.

Whew!

:)
profundis: (Gaze)
Well I have packed and labeled and taped and stacked all I can stand and am going to bed before I kill someone (and since no one else is here that would mean going out and I'm really too tired for that, plus I'd have to get dressed again).

Movers arrive at 8:30 supposedly so yay for 4 hours of sleep. I will still have plenty more to do here as there is lots that is not going to the apartment but to Good Will or to Mom's instead, but once the bed goes tomorrow that means I'm not living here anymore.

Today while sorting through stuff I found the first picture I ever saw of the house and yard 10 years ago. Things have certainly changed since then.

I'm a little sad, but not like I thought I would be. I'm just ready to close this chapter and move on...maybe by the end of September I'll have everything done LOL.

Expect a deluge of craigslist ads soon to try to sell off stuff I can live without.

G'night all.

Pups Away!

I feel better today. I realized while Rob and Shayne and I were bathing, walking, and loading the pups that their care has never been all on me. Its always been a group effort. A family effort. That is no less true now that they are living in different homes. We are all gonna be okay.

Today I can feel Autumn coming...its in the air - the dryness, the slight coolness (relatively speaking), the breeze.  I am feeling some pangs of nostalgia about leaving the house and the dogs going to their new homes (even if they are nearby and with friends, its still not the same), but also some excitement about moving into the new place and anticipation of Autumn coming on, it's my favorite season and after the year I've had I'm looking much forward to some reflection and taking stock.  Also of enjoying my new deck - I'm envisioning working on my laptop while I sip my latte and enjoy the view and the cool air.  Hell yeah, bring it.
profundis: (Celtic Knot)
I went out on the deck to take some pics of the puppies, and discovered that the tall muscadine vine in the back woods had collapsed inside the dog yard. It must have happened a few days ago during one of those big thunderstorms. I haven't been able to reach these in the 10 years since I bought the house, now in the last two weeks I am to reside here, this gift. There was abundance for me here, all I had to do was notice it.

I just signed my new lease and dropped off a few things, had some yummy Thai food with my new roomie, cleaned my bathroom and set up the laptop.  Now its time for work, I'll settle in a bit more tonight (brought enough stuff to stay over), work again in the A.M. and then the shuttling of things will continue!  Whew!
profundis: (Good Times!!!)
After a week of suspense (they say they were short-staffed) I'm approved for the apartment I wanted! Yay!
profundis: (South Pawk)
Ah yes, I did find some old gems from grade school - MAD LIBS!  Every school kid's preferred method of learning the parts of speech while trying out all those cool cuss words your mom gets angry if she hears you say!  Say BUTTHOLE and PUSSY every time! It's hilarious!

Some choice excerpts:

Help Wanted: QUEER young man to work in BUTTHOLE factory.  Must have experience in repairing DICKS and wrapping TURDS.

Maw: Paw git up its time to milk the VIBRATORS.
Paw: Milk the VIBRATORS?! Listen, I milked them VIBRATORS good last night. After breakfast I'll SUCK the chickens and fix the still.
Maw: What's wrong with the still?
Paw: Its turning out CUM instead of moonshine.
Maw: Well don't forget to take your rifle.  if a Revenue Agent spots you you can shoot him in the FARTHOLE.

A new movie has opened called "The Teen-Age TURD meets the PECKER Vampire from Outer Space."

This new Hi-Fi stereo set will play records, cassettes, or 8 track ASSHOLES.  It has dynamic speakers. Each speaker is covered in imitation SHIT. Guaranteed not to fade or IS IT.

How to do that new dance, the Monstrosity:
Stand with your feet together. Stamp your right foot 50,000 times and put your hands on your partners NUTS. Next you both FART slowly to the right and bend your DICK backward.  Next you and your partner stand back to back and wiggle your TURDS and slap your BOOGERS together.  Now face your partner again, put your BUTTHOLES together and shout" HELP! RAPE!" Now PISS backward and repeat the whole thing 80 times.

How to Have a Flat Stomach: Lie on the floor on your EYEBALL, raise your BELLY-BUTTON over your BUTTHOLE. Do this 20 Times.

The nuthatch is very tame. He will fly down and land right on your PUSSY and eat out of your BALLS.  Other birds to watch out for are the red-crested ASSHOLE and the yellow-bellied BUTTsucker.

I ran over to grab his BALLS but I accidentally jabbed my PUSSY onto his HEAD and broke his PENUS (sic).  Then the bus came to a sudden stop which caused me to drop my TITS and fall on top of an OLD lady who was carrying a DILDO on her lap.  Believe me my PUSSY was red that day!

Holy moley I have been the packrat of all time.  I'm cleaning out my storage area at Mom's and dear Jeebus is it ever full of shit.  Most of it is from college, but there are strata that I can identify as high school and even elementary school as I slowly dig deeper towards the core of the Earth.

About 2% of the stuff in there is anything I even want to consider keeping, which is probably why its been in there for 20ish years.

A few highlights:

Apparently I was the best at writing teen angst fiction about Jesus in the entire nation (at least within the Assemblies of God) in 1986. I should have gone to work for Watchtower or Awake!

Webelos (We-Blows) scout uniform accessories are *fierce* I should have never graduated to Boy Scout.  Although I do like my beret.

DID YOU KNOW!!? On 2-7-88 I totally kicked Defender's ass with a score of 1,146,000, completing wave 107! OMG! My life is fulfilled.  I have no idea what platform this game was played on, since at the time I only had a Commodore 64.

Never take home cast-off display hardware from your job at Sears.  You will never make anything super cool out of it or cover your walls in reflective rainbow-colored tiles.  No.  You won't.

Seeing that you are in the 99th percentile on your SAT score is still fucking awesome, even 20 years later when it hasn't made a damn bit of difference in your life.

Well by now [livejournal.com profile] hadrian_m should be en route to San Diego. I miss him already.

I know he left town for the foreseeable future a couple years back already but the unforeseeable happened and he wound up back here for a while, so I got to have him around again. Maybe its just because he's headed further away in distance than last time (emotional distance as well as physical) but it feels more permanent this time so I'm kinda bummed for myself of course, excited for him.

In a lot of ways I envy him for being able to pick up and go without too much fuss. In some ways a little more fuss would have been nice. ;) Take good care of our Pup, 619! He pretty much takes care of himself - even when he should let someone else - so don't let him fool ya! *grin*
profundis: (Khaaaaan!!!)
My AC went out earlier this week, you might have read. It worked one night (in which it gave me a damn upper respiratory cold) and then froze up. I have been sick all week (finally getting over it) and staying where its cool (work, [livejournal.com profile] mad_piper's, the mall, etc). The central unit is so old and dilapidated that replacement is the only option and frankly, that just ain't an option at the moment.

SO! I took my target gift cards from my birthday (I saved them like a good boy) and got me a windo unit for my bedroom! Yay! It works! I can sleep in my own bed without sweating all over it! Squeeeeeeeeee!

Now I can actually finish the sorting and tossing and packing I was doing...

Cross your fingers, good news possible tomorrow...

Well I've been planning to move to a rental for a little while now, as I want to be closer to town, keep costs down, have less maintenance to deal with and not be so stuck down in place as with my house.  I was thinking late summer maybe fall would be good, but some new developments have motivated me to look a little sooner - mostly cause my AC is dying and I doubt it will make it through the summer.

SO - if you are in the Atlanta area (preferably around the north side somewhere along the 75/285/85 end of things but I'll consider other options) and either are seeking a roommate situation, or just have a room or basement apt to rent  - or know someone who does, please let me know or have them email me (profundis at live journal dot com works just fine).
