My name is Mikey...
Oct. 28th, 2008 04:52 pm...and I am a tacoholic. Ever since a young cub turned me on to El Taco Veloz I can't stop thinking about them. I make up excuses to be in the neighborhood so that I can drive by, hoping that they will be open. I cancel social engagements in order to eat more tacos, or hang out with a rough crowd because I know they will take me to El Taco Veloz to feed my hunger. I am here at work right now typing this and I just finished eating a delicious carne asada taco and cheese dip with tomatillo salsa and extra cilantro. Mmmmmmm, I wish I was eating it again right now...
Someone please help me (get more tacos).

Aug. 17th, 2008 09:50 pmI just made the best BBQ chicken EVAR. I have no idea how to recreate the sauce but it was heavy on molasses, ginger, honey, maple, mustard, apple cider vinegar, and various spices (I think I even put cloves). I first cooked a pound of wild hog sausage in the sauce and when that was done and the sauce was all bubbly and greasy and awesome I put the frozen chicken in and let it slow cook, browning up and caramelizing the sauce on each side.....it nearly fell apart when I picked it up with the fork....soooooooooo goooooooood....*drool*
Tranny Carnivores of the Serenghetto
Jul. 1st, 2008 11:41 amSunday turned out to be quite a day - hung out with
mad_piper and LJ ex-pat
monarchprime for a while and then drove down to Lakewood to pay a massage visit to
wendiegoers and kibbutz with
sabrina_pandora. Their lovely abode is nestled cozily within the confines of a patch of gentrification surrounded by, shall we say, "Those Less Gentrified."
But talk about a nice tip! The ladies invited me to have dinner with them as they were taking the opportunity to grill out in the backyard - and let me tell you something boys, you ever get invited to dinner by these two, you *go*.
These gals sure can sling their meat! Dinner consisted of all five major food groups - steak, crab, lobster (!), chicken, and pork! Oh, and banana pudding for dessert. Jiminy Christmas was I ever stuffed, but damn it was good.
Right after dinner and just at sunset that thunderstorm rolled through, which give me one of the most spectacular drives home ever. The sun was still up but right on the horizon, lighting the retreating cloudwall from the side and underside...the front had left tattered remnants of cloud formation going in skewed directions of each other and the colors were surreal. Remember that strange lighting in the skies in Pitch Black? Kind of like the Glory of High Summer /Big Sky meets the End of the World? Yeah. Sullen burnt oranges and turgid maroons illuminated by harsh metallic silver and electric orange like a bonfire of sodium lamps. Phenomenal. Scratch that - Numenous. Luminous Numenous, even.

Jul. 16th, 2007 08:00 pmMom sent me home from the farm with a bunch of veggies fresh from the garden...over the following days I ate cherry tomatoes like they were going out of style, OMG home-grown tomatoes...sooooo goooood. There are a dozen ears of corn I haven't gotten to yet, and monster zucchini I ate one of but couldn't handle the rest.
Then there were a few yellow crookneck squash, a couple banana peppers and a several jalapenos left to do something with so:
Profundis' Squash Goulash
In a large non-stick skillet pour liberal amounts (at least one tablespoon each) of sesame, chili, and sun-dried tomato oil and spread to cover evenly.
Dice one russet potato and start frying it in the oil.
Dice yellow crookneck squash and jalapeno /banana peppers and shake in a big baggie with some corn meal (not so much as to make a heavy batter) and a few dashes of cumin.
After the potato is about half-done add the diced veggies and stir all together.
Cook until the potato is brown and the oil is absorbed.
Voila!

Damn this is good but whew! Its warm. I fear I will pay for this later. It bites back. I'm sure just a couple peppers would have sufficed. LOL

Anyone wanna come over for dinner...?
Apr. 5th, 2007 05:20 pm...I'm cooking everything in the freezer. Oy. Don't know what's wrong with it but it's not keeping the frozen stuff froze - so all the meat had to be cooked!
*stirs the ground sausage (wild hog with Chef Mikey's special spices)*
*flips the chicken breasts (in Asian oils)*
*drains the chicken nuggets*
*throws freezer-burnt salmon to the ecstatic puppies*
*opens a cider and takes a nice soaky bath*

In general I already knew this disgusting information, having seen Super Size Me and read part of Fast Food Nation, but that media-induced chemically reinforced craving tends to run wild and needs to be pruned back with a regular dose of yuk factor!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Good massage session with my regular daddybear client today, though I won't get to see him for a few weeks. Sad times, as Contender Cub would say.
Then a lovely evening of dinner (pork loin and creamed potatoes, mmm), TiVo (Grey's Anatomy and Drawn Together), and dessert with Cadet Mattison
mashbyh and Lt. McQ
mdmcquaig Those boys eat more sweets than you could imagine. Popsicles, Ice cream, cookies, and even milkshakes. ;)
Came home and chatted with Chamberlain Nate
mindchaos and Cadet Jamie
supercub for a bit.
Even though Mattison had filled me up with pork and taters (what?) I had a hankering for a midnight snack so I fixed some breakfast. I finally got my "birds in a basket" recipe to work right! W00t! Eggy, toasty, buttery, cheesy goodness!

Mmmmm, a delicious day all around.
