Out of the Woods (and home before dark)

Mom is out of ICU and in her own regular room for a few more days. She has apparently skated through 2 strokes with zero side-effects beyond the shooting head pains that heralded them.
Whatever prayers, vibes, ju-ju, karma, reiki, or dumb luck you sent our way, I thank you. I don't care where it came from, I'm just glad she's ok. They are gonna watch and test her for a couple more days to make sure, but it really seems she is gonna be ok.
She has a vertebral dissection (non-bleeding) in the C1/C2 area for you med types out there, brought on most likely by a chiropractic neck adjustment, which was quite a shocker. I did some reading yesterday and it seems that particular area is vulnerable to the particular manipulation involved, so needless to say no one in our family will be getting any more neck adjustments. I suggest you read up on the risks and huge controversy on the subject before you get one too.
