That sucks! Last week I was at a Thrift store buying a sweater for my son; the total cost was $4, and my card was rejected. I went online to look at my account at home, and there were $350 in charges that weren't mine. I called Wachovia, and the charges were in California. Someone had skimmed my card somewhere. It's an electronic device that saves the info on your magnetic strip.
Fortunately they are reversing all this. It scared the b-jeezus out of me.
When I worked for Bank One, we would reverse them alot of the time, especially for people who had never bounced them before, just stop in to your branch and ask. Normally they will reverse them, or at the very least take off 2 of the 3.
I work for a bank right now, this happens all the time. People come in in a rage about the fees.
Overdraft fees are a great way for the bank to be raking in the money, tho I don't ever see any of that money in my paycheck....
I agree with everyone else, go sit with customer service and if you are in good standing they may take all 3 fees off, probably just this once. you should also look for overdraft protection which I'm sure they carry, which will prevent fees if this happens again.
