profundis: (Too Much Ass)

Well I have noticed a nice drop in my BP since I started my meds, but there is still a little ways to go til its all good.  I don't know if its from peeing more or eating less or both but I am down to 289 from 305 (I think) at the beginning of April.  I know that's not a huge drop but its something, and if I ever get off my ass and exercise I'm sure it will come down more.  I also am working on letting little crap go when I would otherwise get worked up about it.  The moving plans are probably not helping, so I figure when that's settled it may come down even more.

I've pretty much adapted to the low-salt eating (found lots of helpful tips and products plus just learned more cooking tricks.  It's not bad at all really.  Once in a while I'll splurge a little but unlike when I was simply telling myself "you should eat less cause you're fat" I find that "stop eating so much of that or you'll have a stroke" works much better as a motivator. :D

I find I plan my meals and snacks around salt and when I hit my goal for a meal, I stop eating or just dont prepare more of something.  Seems to work well.  I'm not hungry, I can eat all the no-salt stuff I want, but I find I don't gorge on that either.  Just don't want as much food as I used to and don't allow myself to eat as much when I do eat.  So...so far so good I reckon.

Great job!
I have gotten used to the low sodium eating to the point that some food I used to love tastes bad to me now. I also found that watching the salt means I eat less junk, so that helped me lose weight.

Its amazing how much salt we eat without realizing it.
