Pick up to 5 interests off my interests list that you'd like to know more about (or that you would like know more about *my* interest in), then post this meme on your own LJ.

I will answer your questions here - then I'll ask you about your interests on your own journal!

blue-collar intellectuals: I tend to really enjoy the company of smart guys that are not part of the intelligentsia...most of the types that are supposed to be intellectuals irritate or bore me...there's something about a really intelligent bouncer or machinist that just fascinates and attracts me. Some of my dearest friends have been this type.

cnmt: Certified NeuroMuscular Therapist, one of my credentials.

wabi-sabi: Perhaps you should ask Claude about this one, though I think it was I that pointed out the word to him (he was already wabi-sabi before that though). Its japanese term that essentially means "the beauty of entropy" - finding beauty and satisfaction in the natural decay and fading of things as seasons change and time passes. Of course like "zen" it has as many meanings as there are people that are into it.

conversion vans: The baby brother version of an RV, something I'm totally fascinated with. I have a dream of traveling around the country in some form of self-contained home/vehicle for work and/or play with or without companions for the trip. I have always been interested in microcosm (another on my list) - little self-contained environments, and the freedom that goes with vans and RV's combines to make them intriguing to me.

masculinity: By this I mean authentic masculine mannerisms and seemings…not exaggerated caricatures of masculinity ala the Village People / Tom of Finland. To me real masculinity is simply being a man, powerfully. Just being male doesn’t make you masculine, neither does it make you a man. Men can be caring and sharing and all that gooey stuff too, but there is a certain energy to a man being manly without pretense that is ultra sexy. Femininity is a fine thing too, and people can (and do) have aspects of both, but when it boils right down to it I’m something of a gender purist. I like men to be men (without being swaggering ass-hats or emotionless statues) and women to be women (without being bitches /ditzy bimbos). Some mixture can be cool too, but I think for me if it feels authentic, I like it. Even if it’s playful /exploratory. If it feels like affectation, I don’t like it. I did my time pretending to be a strong black woman. Now I only channel Shirley Q. :P

Alrighty, tell me what: Brutalist architecture, hating Suburbia, positive negativity, Southern mn, and submissive mean to you.

Oh, and paste my meme and my questions in your journal.
